The gift of a pair of cameras would help ensure photographic coverage for all school activities and would allow our journalism students to be better trained as effective photojournalists. We are asking for Sony Cameras as we already have a variety of Sony lenses.
Right now we are borrowing cameras or using our cell phones to cover school events, and the quality of our student learning on photography is inconsistent. Some students have their own cameras and are very proficient, while others are doing their best to take wide shots, knowing they'll have to be cropped and edited later. To ensure the best student learning outcomes, we need to ensure we have the tools to teach our students well no matter what personal resources they bring to the table.
