Lansing Catholic High School Announces New Head Baseball Coach: Dillon Reust
Lansing, Mich. (November 20, 2024) – Lansing Catholic High School is proud to announce the appointment of Dillon Reust as the new Head Varsity Baseball Coach. With a deep passion for coaching, a wealth of leadership experience, and a strong commitment to youth development, Reust brings a unique skill set and perspective to the program.
Reust is no stranger to the Lansing community. Born and raised in the area, Dillon has an impressive background, both on and off the field. A standout baseball player in his high school years at Grand Ledge High School, Reust went on to play at Jackson College and Cornerstone University, where he earned full athletic scholarships. Throughout his baseball career, he developed not only his athletic abilities but also an unwavering commitment to teamwork and leadership. His experiences as a captain and starting center fielder have shaped his coaching philosophy, emphasizing discipline, hard work, and collaboration.
Since 2018, Reust has actively coached various youth sports, including baseball, soccer, and basketball, reaching players across a wide age range. His coaching journey has also extended into a men’s baseball league, allowing him to further hone his skills and develop a deeper understanding of how to connect with players of all ages. Dillon’s diverse coaching experience, combined with his work in law enforcement uniquely positions him to lead and mentor high school athletes in both their athletic and personal growth.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dillon Reust as our new Varsity Boys’ Baseball Coach,” said Kenny Goodrich, LCHS Athletic Director. “Dillon’s sense of commitment really stands out. He is committed to the game of baseball, he is committed to developing boys into men, and he is committed to enhancing the mission of this school through baseball.”
As a Sergeant with the City of Lansing Police Department, Reust has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, supervising teams and fostering positive community relationships. His work in the Community Service Policing Unit, and his initiative in establishing a Police Athletic League, has further solidified his dedication to community development. Through his work, he’s learned the value of building trust, maintaining discipline, and making critical decisions under pressure—all skills that are vital for a successful head coach.
“My family, baseball and this great City of Lansing have been the cornerstone of my life,” said Reust. “I’m honored to get the chance to bring them all together and start this journey with this group at Lansing Catholic High School”.
Reust is eager to start the season with the Lansing Catholic High School baseball team and looks forward to fostering a strong, competitive program. His leadership, experience, and faith-based approach to coaching will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the players and the community.
