Lansing Catholic names new athletic director

MSU athletic performance coach Kenny Goodrich will lead LCHS sports programs beginning fall 2023

LANSING, Mich. (July 8, 2023) – Seasoned college coach and administrator Kenny Goodrich will oversee Lansing Catholic High School’s athletic programs beginning July 17, school leaders announced today.

Goodrich comes to the school from Michigan State University, where he served as Director of Athletic Performance at Munn Ice Arena. Previously, he led the strength and conditioning program at Bowling Green State University.

“We are delighted to welcome Kenny to our team of mission-driven leaders and staff,” said Lansing Catholic president Dominic Iocco. “His background and previous experience, coupled with a heart for supporting future generations of athletes, is going to cement the many gains our sports teams have made in recent years and give our school the opportunity to climb to new heights.”

LCHS athletes have recently collected state championships in several sports, from football and girls basketball to bowling and boys track. Other teams have finished at the top of their leagues, leaving little doubt of the athletic talent that exists at the school.

“I am very excited to become part of the Lansing Catholic family,” Goodrich said. “The people I’ve encountered here are deeply faithful and committed to the principles of sportsmanship, personal growth, and fair play. Together, I expect we can do great things and create even more opportunities for student athletes in the future.”

Goodrich holds a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sports administration, both earned at MSU. He is certified under the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association as a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Goodrich and his wife, Amy, reside in Okemos with their children, Cami, Wesley, and Kennedy.
