As part of our Catholic Schools Week festivities, our school was blessed to award Phong Vu C04 with our first-ever, Mission Award for Faith. Phong is currently the principal at San Juan Diego Catholic High School in Austin, Texas and delivered a message over a recorded Zoom session to our staff and student body.

Phong’s faith journey took him from his plans to become a doctor to serve the poor through Notre Dame’s, Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program, where he started teaching at a high school in Tucson, Arizona. He also met his wife, Erin, while going through ACE. Usually, an ACE assignment is only for two years and people typically resume their career plans. For both Phong and Erin it was a calling and two years turned into twelve until they heard the call this year to move to Texas and serve the community through school administration.
