- Cross Country
There is a parent information meeting on Wednesday, August 18.
Monday and Wednesdays along the River Trail and Tuesday and Thursdays at Grand Woods (4500 West Willow Highway 48917) until the week of Aug. 23 with two notable exceptions.
We will be at Lansing Catholic High School Track Wednesday, Aug. 18 for our Cross Country parents meeting, where we'll talk about the season, sign ups, updated physicals (all kids will need one), and y'all can ask questions. We will have a Zoom option for parents who can't make it in person. The link is at the bottom of this email.
Our first official Lansing Area Catholic Middle School Cross Country practice will be Monday, Aug. 23. Practices will be at 4 p.m. at the Lansing High School track Monday-Thursday.
Our first meet is the next day, Tuesday, Aug. 24 at the St. Francis Retreat Center. It's the Cougar 2-Mile and it's a benchmark that kids can use to gauge their progression throughout the year.
Coach Cristin Reid and the high school coach, Tim Simpson, have populated the schedule with some meets on athletic.net that you can look at (https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/School.aspx?SchoolID=34259)

- Ursula Klein Performing Arts Program
A group of Alumni is creating an amazing new program for the area Catholic middle school students and to honor their former performing arts teacher, Miss Ursula Klein. She was a tremendously talented teacher, choir director, musician, and soloist who gave her entire career to her students at Resurrection Elementary School, Resurrection High School, and later Gabriels High School. No one can measure how many lives were impacted by her, her talent, and her modeling as one of God’s disciples.
The Ursula Klein Junior Cougar Performing Arts Program is a powerful gift empowering middle school students from all partner schools, area parishes’ faith formation, and home school programs in our region to have the opportunity to develop their vocal talent and performance skills while developing lifelong friendships. Watch for a fun array of musical stage performances, musical instrument drive, choir, marching band, music ministry choir, summer performing arts camp, and more.
This new middle school program is planned to debut in 2022. Watch for social media posts, flyers, and information in your parish bulletins in the first quarter.
The home of the Ursula Klein Junior Cougar Music Program will be Lansing Catholic High School’s auditorium, Cougar Stadium, and St. John Paul the Great Chapel.
This enriching new program can be made possible only through your financial support. Our goal is to raise $250,000 to build and sustain this tremendous program. A matching gift has been secured for all gifts received prior to December 31, 2021, up to $40,000.
Give a gift today in memory of Ursula Klein and your donation will be matched up to $40,000. To donate go to lansingcatholic.org/donate-now or mail to Lansing Catholic High School, Ursula Klein Memorial Jr. Cougar Music Program, 501 Marshall Street, Lansing, MI 48912.
