Middle School Visits

September 17-21, 2018

LCHS students and staff will visit middle school students at our Catholic partner schools to talk about all of the great things Lansing Catholic has to offer (classes, clubs, athletics, faith life, etc) and the events that we have planned for their grade levels throughout the school year.  {School Visits Fall 2018:  Mon., Sept. 17: Resurrection (Lansing) & St. Michael (Grand Ledge) & St. Mary (Charlotte); Tue., Sept. 18: St. Martha (Okemos), & St. Mary (Williamston); Wed., Sept. 19: St. Thomas (East Lansing) & St. Paul (Owosso); Thur., Sept. 20: IHM-St. Casimir (Lansing)  & St. Gerard (Lansing); Fri., Sept. 21: St. Joseph (St. Johns).}

Prospective Family Night

Wednesday, October 17, 2018,  6:30-8:30 p.m.

Prospective families with children of all ages are invited to learn more about what LCHS has to offer.  Please note that there is a set schedule for this event.  Families are taken on a school tour led by a LCHS student, attend breakout sessions (on curriculum, tuition, college planning, and extracurricular and athletic activities), and attend a question and answer session with our administration, faculty and students to conclude this event.  Registration is not required, but is appreciated, please complete our inquiry form or contact Admissions Coordinator, Karen Gavin if you plan to attend at karen.gavin@lansingcatholic.org or 517-267-2102.

Costume Concert and Trick or Treating

Thur., October 25, 2018, Trick or Treat at 6:30pm, Concert at 7:00pm

Trick or Treating begins at 6:30pm throughout the halls of LCHS, hosted by LCHS’s clubs and athletic teams.  A free choir and band concert follows at 7pm.  The Costume Concert includes performances by the LCHS Marching Band, Jazz Band, Strings Ensemble, and Choirs as well as the Lansing Area Catholic Middle School Band and Combined Middle School Choirs.

8th Grade Visit Day at LCHS

Mon., October 29, 2018  9:00am-1:30pm

Any 8th grader is welcome to attend this visit day.  Students will tour of the school, attend mini lessons in various subject areas, learn about student activities and athletics, and meet other 8th graders, current LCHS students, teachers, counselors, administration, and coaches. Lunch is provided and students should wear their school uniforms to this event.   If you have an 8th grader who does not attend one of our Catholic partner schools, but would like to attend this event, please contact our Admissions Office at 517-267-2102 or email karen.gavin@lansingcatholic.org

4th Grade Play Visit Day

Thur., November 8, 2018,  9:45am-12:45pm

All 4th graders from the partner schools are invited to watch an exclusive showing of LCHS’s fall play and meet the cast.  Students, teachers, and chaperones are asked to bring a lunch to eat after the play and before leaving LCHS.  Students should wear their school uniforms to this event.

7th-8th-9th Grade Dance at LCHS

Sat., January 12, 2019, 7:30-10:00 pm

This is a special dance only for 7th and 8th graders from the partner schools and LCHS 9th graders. It is hosted at LCHS in the cafeteria. LCHS provides each school with flyers/permission slips to send home with 7th and 8th grade students.  The cost of the dance is $3 each and a signed permission slip is required.

7th Grade Retreats 

January 29 & 31, 2019, 8:30pm-1:45pm

LCHS’s Campus Ministry Team hosts a free retreat for all 7th graders to attend at LCHS.  Students are to bring a lunch and wear their school uniform to this event.

5th Grade Activity Visit Day

Fri., March 1, 2019, 12:15pm-1:45pm

Any 5th grader is welcome to attend this visit day.  Students will tour of the school, attend activity lessons in various subject areas, and meet other 5th graders, current LCHS students, teachers, counselors, and administration. A snack is provided and students should wear their school uniforms to this event.

6th Grade Spring Musical Visit Day

Thur., March 14, 2019, 9:45 am-12:45 pm

All 6th graders from the partner schools are invited to watch an exclusive showing of LCHS’s spring play and meet the cast.  Students and teachers are asked to bring a lunch to eat after the play and before leaving LCHS.  Students should wear their school uniforms to this event.

Incoming Freshmen Registration Meetings

February & March 2019  Registration for the incoming freshman class will take place on several evenings by appointment throughout February and March. At your appointment, you will meet with our staff to complete the registration process. You will meet with our tuition advisor to turn in your tuition worksheet, pay your registration fee, and establish a tuition plan. You and your 8th grader will also meet with our staff to create a four year plan for your student's classes, service, social, and extra curricular activities, athletics, and more! 2018 Registration - Once you have applied, please sign up for a registration appointment using our online sign up. A new link for 2019 Registration Appointments will be available in January 2019.

After March 26, families need to contact our counselors and tuition office directly to schedule a registration appointment:

Meet the Cougars Event for Incoming Freshman and their Families

Wed., April 17,  2019, 6:00-7:15pm

Incoming freshmen and their parents have the opportunity to meet and talk with the coaches for each sport and learn about practices, summer conditioning, etc. as well as meet with our band/choir/drama director, service coordinator, and campus ministry/student activities director at this Meet the Cougars event. If you cannot make this event, please feel free to contact our coaches to find out what you need to know about summer practices, tryouts, etc.  The letter about the event from 2018 can be found here.

Incoming Freshman Family Ice Cream Social

Wed., June 5, 2019, 7-8 pm

Incoming freshmen and their parents meet in the LCHS cafeteria for a casual meet-and-greet ice cream social event. The LCHS Spirit Shop will also be open at this event.

LCHS Summer Sports and Activity Camps

June 10-21, 2019

June 2018 Information: LCHS hosts a variety of summer camps for students in grades K-12, including football, basketball, cheerleading, tennis, golf, lacrosse, baseball, softball, soccer, and science camp. Used Textbook Sale

July TBA, 2019, 6-7 pm

LCHS does not run this book sale; LCHS simply provides a space for families to sell textbooks to other families. Incoming freshmen as well as sophomore, junior, and seniors families meet in the LCHS cafeteria to swap, purchase, sell used textbooks for the upcoming school year. Textbook sellers set their own prices. It is best to bring cash in small denominations to help make change and pay exact prices to other families. Chromebook Orientations - Incoming 9th Graders

June & July 2019 TBA

June & July 2018: Chromebook Orientation dates and times are available at this link.  All orientation sessions will take place in the LCHS Library from 6:30-7:30pm on the dates listed on the online sign up. Chromebook orientation is for parents and students to attend. Students will receive their Chromebook and a tutorial at this orientation.
